About Arts in Motion
Arts In Motion (A.I.M.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community youth theater and arts education organization. The mission of Arts In Motion is to provide a means for children in kindergarten through 12th grade to participate in the visual and performing arts that are both educational and entertaining, in a community where similar opportunities are not available.
We strive to help students build confidence, stimulate creativity, and develop teamwork and collaborative skills that will have a positive life long effect.
We currently produce a full scale musical each Fall and Spring, and one or two one week long summer camps each year. AIM also hosts workshops in audition technique, voice, acting, improv and dance.
Although “community” is in our name, the organization is private and governed by a very hands-on Board of Directors, all of which are volunteers. Our production team members are also volunteers but do receive a small stipend.
We double cast many roles in order to provide more opportunity for kids to hold a lead role within a show. Other than our registration fees, our organization is supported largely by donations, sponsors, ads, fundraisers and ticket sales. Each full scale musical costs approximately $20,000 to produce!
Since its formation in 1995, AIM has produced 58 shows and held numerous summer camps and workshops.
